Tiger striping on an old mosin stock.

Before some #### there pants, This stock is damaged and was already painted 3-4 times before I started this project. As you may notice my barrel bands are elastic bands and the clamps that hold them are broken off. I think if someone cut rags and soaked them in water before torching it with the print design it would look better.

Here is my attept at tiger stripping free hand. I think it would have looked much better with red stain rather then BLO only but Its my test stock. Burlap wrap is next when i get some free stuff.

At least you trimmed off the excess. Actually... Now that I think about it. It would have been allot better if you didn't, and left the zip ties to dangle about.

I ran out of duct tape and kinda wish I never cut the zip ties, damn cut my hand a few time.

I zip tied it recently lol, unfortunately, I shoot my mill surplus guns weekly, sometimes 2-3 times. So they can end up looking like this when stuff breaks off. Just today I cracked my other mosins stock

Hose/pipe clamps would be my choice.

On topic. The tiger striping doesn't look too bad actually. It's a tough one to replicate. I agree a darker reddish finish would look better.

A burlap'd Mosin always looks great. But you need one layer of burlap, and one layer of canvas webbing. I'm surprised I don't see to many people doing that.

Im pretty strapped for cash now that im unemployed but when I do come across hose clamps ill throw 2 one. Everything including the torch and oil was all kicking around the house. Just trying to make something with what I had. Even used old used sandpaper lol.
