Tikka 234 varmint Optix choice

Hello,

It would be helpful if I could have some suggestions on a scope for a new Tikka 234 varmint.
would a 4-16x40 be a good choice?

I will be using the gun about 60% of the time at the range trying to hit the target at 300 yds
35% of the time it will be used for coyote and 5% of the time if I have a chance to go deer hunting.

budget is around 500.00 and have to admit I like the tactical scopes better than hunting scopes

Some ammo suggestions could help out too

I have a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 on my Rem Sendero in 7RM. Love it. They go for about $1000 at WSS... (I didn't buy mine there, got it at Huntfest from an outfit in Grande Prairie)

I have a Tikka T3 Varmint in 6.5x55 SE coming my way soon and I will be putting the same as what I have on the Sendero.

Hawke Optics makes a good option in your price range. A friend of mine has one on, I believe, a 22-250. Nice scope, solid, good price.
