Has anybody installed a Limbsaver precision-fit on a Tikka3 hunter,or laminate stock? I purchased two, for my wsm rifles. The package says, it will fit T3 synth, T3 laminate and the T3 hunter. The pad fits perfectly on the synth. stock, but not on my laminate. There is a plastic plate ,which apparently is glued to the wood that interfers with the instulation. It exists on the laminate and wood models. I asked the gun shop about it, and they think one has to cut or grind this plastic plate off. Has anybody out there heard of this? I would appreciate your opinions.

I could screw it on to mine as well, but that would increase the LOP by the thickness of this plate. The Limbsaver is a thicker pad to begin with, and now adding the thickness of the plate, the LOP becomes a bit long for me. I wanted to keep the LOP as close as possible to the original pad.The limbsaver does not change the LOP by much on my synth stock. The slight difference is hardley noticable.

/\ use a thin knife or metal rulers like we use at work. they are not glued in but are a ##### to get off for some reason on the wood stocks.

I just put it right over the plastic plate. No knives or grinders required.

The LOP will be the same as the synthetic stock, but if you remove the plastic plate, the stock will be shorter than the synthetic one. Unless the stock is too long for you, leave the plate on.

Blargon, no it isn't the same. It is longer by the thickness of the plastic plate, which isn't a whole lot, but noticable. This is my point, I would like it to be the same.
