I picked up a Tikka model 695 in 6.5X55 se. anyway when I cycle the bolt it's like a hot knife to butter, but when i put a dud brass or empty dry fire the bolt is hard to open, tha bolt seems to be free of bur's and sharp edge's chamber looks clean, tried oil but did not help! Any tips or ideas Thanks Badbrass

695

Between me and my hunting buddy we have 4 M695 and no glitches like you describe. I suggest you contact Bill Leeper a gunsmith in BC and he can and will fix any problem you have. Karl

Try cycling a live round at a range or in the bush. Spent rounds are expanded and will feel much different than new brass. Cheers,

Patrick

Bolts are always harder to open when they have been fired. Could just be the extra tension of re-cocking the firing pin. Nothing abnormal there,
