Anyone put a 4x or 2-7 on an arctic model and leave the rear sight on? Wondering what works. Was thinking that an AR style qd mount might give the right height. Any ideas?

On my Ruger Gunsite Scout with a full-length XS rail I was using 34MM Mediums, and it was cleaning the rear sight fine. Just measure from the top of the rail to the top of the sight and find a set of rings from the base to the bottom of the saddle are taller than that. An AR-15 QD mount is meant for clearing a scope on a flatop rail which usually needs to sit a lot higher and is probably going to make getting a cheek weld almost impossible on your rifle. Judging from the Tikka website, it looks like there is about 3/4" offest so a set of highs may work. Remember to also account for your tube size as well.

Well today I found a qd rail that sits on top of the rear sight. I put some low rings on and the 4x is at home. It is a little high for a cheek weld but I can make it work for now.
