Hi guys, i looking for a tikka battue.

Any suggestion about the scope and base height?? What you recommend if you dont remove the fiber sights.

Best options are tactical rail or standard base?

Show me tour guns!!!

I'd look for one in walnut. Seems to be a nicer package than the plastic version. 8x57 would be fitting for a chamber.

Why use a rail on a sporting gun? A good set of steel Weaver bases will work just fine and be lighter. I got easy clearance on my T3 so low rings should work on a normal scope. A 1x4 or 1.5-5x20 would make a perfect set-up.

I loved the idea to remove it quickly.

But as you see weaver base are cheaper. I can remove it too just before a specific hunt.

The masi QD is 140 euro without shipping and maybe custom fee $$$

I have a Tikka Battue in 308.
I installed a Leupold VX1 3x9x40 on a EGW 0 MOA rail using Warne maxima QD rings(medium height).
Scope sits nice(no issues with the rear sight ramp).
When the scope is removed the rail does not obstruct the sights.

When Tikka was offering a package deal (get the scope and rings factory mounted for a couple hundred extra bucks), THEY mounted them with Burris bases and rings.

Now could have just because (they) got a deal on the hardware, or maybe (they) thought that was the best mounts for their rifles?

(or maybe just because Tikka and Burris are both owned by Beretta) :)

Just saying - not trying to start an argument about what is better/best...

Warne 1" medium QD rings for tikka BARELY fit a 32mm objective. They will not fit a 36mm objective, it's that tight.

These rings are a bit high, but still give a good cheek weld. The high rings are chin-weld high.

That rear base is a pain in the butt for mounting optics with a decent cheek weld. Be very sure you really want a Battue.

I've got a1.75-6x32 Leupold on mine. It's a perfect setup.

Love the idea of the 20 inch barrel. Harder to find in other tikka model ? At the moment maybe ill buy it new.

I posted this before, but you can't beat MaSi qd base/rings. I have a Leupold VXR 1.25-4x20 currently mounted. Always returns to zero and an excellent cheek weld.
Yes, MaSi aren't cheap, and it's a pain to order from Finland, but the extra bucks is worth it.
