I posted a few months back whether go Tikka or Savage...I went with the majority and purchased a Tikka T3 Varmint 1 in 8 twist and am very happy I went that route. The optic on the rifle is a Bushnell 3.5-21x50 DMT with Vortex Precision Matched 34 mm rings and it all sits on a Talley 20 moa base. I upgraded the bolt handle to a larger tactical knob and replaced the plastic shroud with aluminum by Atlasworx, a simple 30 sec swap, no tools . I got rid of the plastic trigger guard and installed an aluminum guard to accept 10 round AI mags...a very beneficial upgrade if you plan to shoot long 75 and up bullets, allows very long seating. The bottom metal was also Atlasworx. The bottom metal took some time with a dremel....wasn't fun but eventually got it in in flush. My mags are MDT 10 round AI style....they work but don't fit quite right and need slight pressure to feed rounds properly,,I called Atlasworx and this seems to happen to a number of customers and they said genuine AI mags work 100%. I think my next upgrade will be a Cadex field OT in tan but for now this is how she sits....Im loving it :)
This rifle loves light 53 gr and 50 gr. bullets will shoot around 1/2 inch when I do my part...heavy bullets were a bit of a challenge...most shot 1.5" but finally found out that seating my bullets just off the lands and 24.2 grs of varget gave me very good results.

I got alot of advice from fellow cgners on what to buy and what works best...really appreciate the help!!!!

Congrats! Nice setup. No comparison between the Tikka's and a Salvage.
I had a .223 Sporter that shot in the .3's with 75gr A-max's seated over Varget. I'm sure you'll find a sweet spot with the heavy's.

How long ago did you get the Tikka with the 1 in 8 twist? I was looking at picking up a 223 as well but the website makes it ambiguous as to if they are 1 in 8 or 1 in 10.

Looks like a solid and functional build. l have a Bushy ERS and they are certainly a lot of scope for the money.

Nice rig for sure! Love the Tikka rifles, I have a Tik Tac on its way to me right now, the anticipation is KILLING me. I sold my Varmint in 6.5 swede, regret that for sure. I also have a CTR on order, who knows when that will come in!?

Nice rifle and good shooting!

I purchased it about 6 weeks ago from Prairie Guntraders.
