Tikka CTR stock question

I've ordered up one of the new CTRs in 6.5 Creedmoor. I don't tend to like the factory tikka stocks and I'm not really into the whole chassis craz either. I have a bell and Carlson for one of my other tikkas that I really like. My question, how different is the bottom metal on the CTRs? Will it be possible to make that work with one of the M40 B&C stocks?

No, the mag and floorplate are different

Yea, I figured as much. I was just curious if it's the type of "different" that can be fixed with a dremel or if it's Too much to be worth the trouble

Ya , the ctr mag is wider/bigger so ---

You can make it work with a milling machine, the ctr bottom metal fits deeper and wider than the standard T-3 bottom "metal".

I fit ctr bottom metal into a T-3 tactical stock, not perfect but it was an extra tactical stock I had around although I had to change the bolt stop for a longer one. I'm guessing the ctr already has a longer bolt stop though?

Nope, blued version. Thanks for the info. May just have to go with w MDT chassis after all.

Not sure what your budget is but these guys make a very nice stock and specialize in Tikka, including the CTR. They ship internationally too.

I ordered a McMillan A3-5 for my CTR 260. Can't wait to get it all together

The McMillan stock will be awesome I'm sure. I was thinking I might be able to get away with the bell and Carlson if I also switch over to a CDI bottom metal. That way I can run AICs magazines.
