For my firstpost, I have a Tikka M55 sport that I am very attached to. It is a 22-250 ackley improved with factory adjustable stock, aluminum rail, etc...

I need a new barrel but want to put on an identical replacement barrel.

Does anyone know where in Canada I can get a genuine tikka heavy replacement barrel ordered or installed?

Thanks

The only place you can get an Original Tikka or Sako part is from Stoeger Canada the Importer but you will have to order through a retailer that does bussiness with them since they only sell wholesale. An aftermarket barrel might be a quicker solution.

I would guess that for the price Stoeger will want for an original Tikka barrel, you can get a top-quality match barrel made and installed by one of our 'smiths here in Canada in any contour you want.

You can have a barrel contoured to match your factory tube and adjust the length and twist rate, as well as going with stainless.

I suggest a button or cut rifled barrel from one of the good makers over a hammer forged factory barrel.

You can get a prefit barrel from Pacnor for very reasonable cost. I sent them a barrel stub so they can now do the 55. The barrel I received looks very nicely machined but we will see come spring how it shoots. I have barreled it for the Tac 20 and put it in our "Predator" stock as a single shot. The 55 is not exactly a custom action but it was lying around looking for a home!
