I have a Tikka M65 in 7mm rem mag that I have just put in a new McMillian game scout stock. I took it out to start load development and was very happy with the velocities I was getting from the 22'' barrel, as well as managing a couple 3/4moa groups at 200m. I had planned to rebarrel as soon as the stock arrived but I think I'll wait. The barreled action shifted in the stock despite being torqued to 45 inch lbs, causing the bolt to bind. I will be attempting my first bedding job as soon as the devcon arrives. There's tons of threads specific to bedding a rem 700 / clone but nothing specific to the older tikka. I assume the process isn't much different but is there any little tricks, tips or quirks related to bedding one of these rifles?
Does anyone out there know the thread pitch on the Tikka M65 action screws? I'd love to replace the slotted screws if possible for an allen or torx head. I'd also like to source a longer stud for the glass bedding project I'll soon be attempting. I assume they're metric but google is failing me.
