Hi to all in CGN!. Can anyone tell me what years the Tikka M695's were made? All the info I have been able to find on line is that the M695's were the predecessors of the T3's before Beretta bought out Tikka/Sako. I am purchasing a Tikka Whitetail Hunter M695, 30-06, Synthetic Stock and Blued Barrel. Does anyone own an M695 and what can you tell me about their performance? Is $475.00 a good price to pay for a used M695, 30-06 in good condition? Also is there any owner manuals in English available for download on this rifle?
Good luck on the Hunt!
Cheers!

I found a LH Whitetail Hunter in 270 Win, decent wood and a spare mag. I got it for 600 from an older fellow I met in a small town restaraunt that had finished hunting and wanted to sell it.
I put an entry level 3-9 Rifleman on it, and it shot pretty well with Federal 150g Partitions. I didn't have time to do much tinkering around, as I had to leave it in Manitoba so my sister could get used to it. But all in all, I think it's a good gun and if I found a RH version of it I may pick it up for myself.
Trigger is set at 3lbs from the factory (they are adjustable from 2-4lbs).
The M690 series is the long action version of the M590 Series and were introduced in 1991 but developed in 1988 to replace the 55 and 65.
Tikka has been owned by Beretta since 1999.
This is from 'Rifles of the World, 3rd Edition'

Contact after sales service from at Tikka. Because the serialization of the Tikka is not well documented in the collecting circlesm they are still the best place to start your search. They will also tell you who was the importer of your rifle and what year they shipped it.

Hi Cooley. So this Tikka 695 was first sold somewhere between 1991 -99. That defenitely narrows it down. I am also going to put a new Leupold Vari 1, 4-12 X40 on this one too. I hope the scope will compliment the rifle and it will perform well. I have only found good reports on the M695 30-06. Thank you for the info, link to the manual and for your post.
Cheers!

Hi Baribal. Would the after sales service department for Tikka presently be located through Beretta? Thank you for the info and post.
Cheers!

I purchased the 695 whitetail in 270, blue/wood 3 years ago, it was new in the box (go lucky to find it i guess)
I spent the $$$ on Tikka rings & mounts and leupold VXII 3-9x40 scope.
Beautiful set up and it's deadly.
You will love the rifle, good hunting
Cheers
OH, i forgot to mention that last year i found the same rifle for my young son in L/H 595 in 308 cal. also new in the box !
( should have gone and bought a lottery ticket) but i didn't !

Hi Haggisbasher,
North Vancouver eh? I grew up in Victoria on the Island. I still miss the West Coast but not the cost of real estate lol. Tell you what. As the old saying goes things happen in threes so if happen to see a third M695 in a 30-06, Wood or Synthetic and Blued that is New in the box let me know please. There will be a tip in it for you. I am defenitely looking forward to Hunting with this rifle. Thank you for the info and post.
Cheers!

i own 3 modal 695 rifles in 30 06, 300 win mag and 338cal and they are all tack drivers and i think the price for your rifle is a steal. if you don't take it send me the info and i will take it.

Hi Lotabul
I took ownership of the rifle on Friday. The rifle looks great. Everything about the rifle says quality! I am glad to hear this model of TIKKA/s performs well. I will have the rifle on the range in the next few days and will post the results. Thank you for the post!
Cheers!

Have a .30-06 M695 SS with synthetic stock myself. That's a good price and a good rifle. Mags are $$ though.
I have one in .338WM as well and I would not hesitate to buy another M695.

CelticKnight,

I don't bother with Beratta USA.... most of the time, they are helpless.
Contact Tikka directly in Finland, from their web official site (you can access it from Sako's site, too).
Give them the S/N of the rifle though the customer service. They should answer you within a week or two.
