I have been looking at using a Tikka action for a build. I have used many 700 actions with the Remage style but. Quite like the ease and simplicity of the idea.

Now I see that there is a few barrel builders that also make this style and a shouldered style prefit for the Tikka. I understand how the nut system works. But I am curious as to the shouldered prefit. Are these actions that close?

In my experience both Sako and Tikka are chambered that close.
Barrels will interchange between the two as well.
At least the newer models.

I have also been looking at a barrel for my tikka.
From what I read the shouldered barrel should just spin on and get torqued to spec. Thats it. You can check it with go no go gauges but that is not a necessary step according to the barrel manufacture.

I read somewhere recently (the hide?) that Patriot Valley measured a large number of Tikka actions and found them so consistent that they were comfortable making shouldered prefits for them. Proof Research makes shouldered prefits for Tikkas as well, and I'm pretty sure McGowan does too. From everything I've read, Tikkas are just as consistent as many of the custom actions.

In my experience both Sako and Tikka are chambered that close.
Barrels will interchange between the two as well.
At least the newer models.

Which Sako models are interchangeable with Tikka barrels? The A7?
I read a post on the hide a few days ago where someone put a Tikka barrel on an A7, made it sound like it was a straight bolt on, but I can't find any other details.
