Agreed, although chamberings in 300 win mag really stretch the definition of varmint hunting for me. Good for those trophy size gophers I suppose.
I think in the 300 Win Mag and the 7mm Rem Mag, the thought is to use it more as a 'beanfield' rifle than as a varmint even though the name is the same.
Correct, have had mine for 3 years. Otherwise identical. Very minor additional difference, the picatinny rail has a mirage shield anchor point.

A good friend uses his Supervarmint in 6.5x55 as his do everything rifle, from target to big game hunting.

Plastic stock, no metal in there to the best of my knowledge, but a beautiful gun none the less, tbh I'd rather get the standard varmint stainless model and threw er in a chassis for about that price though.
