Tikka T1x. Add vertical grip and beavertail forend or change stock?

Honestly, the $40 vertical grip does enough by itself to give the standard tikka stock a better feel while not breaking the bank. Shame it’s not included in the box as others have posted. I forwent the thick forend, just because I like it thin out front. Shoot its stock-stock and save the pesos. T1X is a fine machine.
Do you think that soft ouch is worth the few extra $ over the hard plastic?

One rifle that does it all is a bit of a compromise. I have a nice lightweight walnut stock for freehand shooting (T1x Hunter) and a different T1x in a heavy chassis with a large scope for supported benchrest/prone shooting. If I had to do it with one I'd have to choose the Hunter plus an MDT bipod, which is the only sling-stud-grabber I've found that goes on and off without being a frustrating thing. But with things like grip angle wanting to change with the style of shooting, it's easier to configure two rifles.

UPR $1460 at Al. MTR 855 at Epps... MDT is about 300 U$... is one substantially better than the other?
Probably shoot similar but feel different due to the stock config. Depends if you plan on shooting off the bench or off-hand.
This Old Fart would prefer the MTR Hunter. A Traditional classic looking rifle with the wood stock.

Still balancing between Tikka and CZ but starting to lean towards Tikka... Now, if I get Tx1, I know that I will blow money on grip and forend. Maybe soft touch but that comes in black only. I kind of admire green or coyote on black...Oh and definitely a bipod. All that is barely within a retire budget... Now, is it better to stretch that budget a bit and replace entire stock. Now what would you recommend. Nothing crazy. Something that would truly help an old man to get good groups without breaking the bank... Or, is putting on a cheek riser, pistol grip and a beavertail forend the most economical option. Note that I do enjoy shooting freehand as much as bench.
I'm truly thankful for all the feedback. Looks like I'm looking for the impossible. A clear break between a cool and practical...

depends, are you a conformist or a stand-out

I bought into 22prs and a starter rifle that I'm still using years later, the Ruger LRT
It ticks so many of the wants, right out of the box
Handles like a full-size rifle, and other than an arca rail on the forend and some weight, its bone stock
It more than meets my needs, it is not the weak link in my shooting system
No, its not a quewl gun

I replaced the stock on the 20" T1x with the MDT Field stock , big fan, I switched the vertical grip and wider forend to the 16".
Im still liking it as well. It doesnt answer your question but It will be cheaper to start with the grip and forend
