Got to try out the new tikka t1X in 22lr today. Conditions weren't great but I was itching to try it. Temperature was -10C and winds were about 10-15kph. Overall I was pleased with it. Had no cycling issues what so ever and was pretty accurate considering the conditions. I would like to put a better stock on it at some point, and lower the trigger pull. The trigger breaks very clean but its still a bit heavier than I would like for a bench shooter. Scope was a bushnell elite 8-32x. All are 5 shot groups at 50 yards. Front and rear rest. The best showing was from lapua polar biathlon but unfortunately I only had 10 rounds :). The pics are from the better performing ammo's. The lesser performing ammo (no pics) was rws rifle target, cci standard velocity, aquila standard velocity, lapua club. I did not follow any procedure such as cleaning between ammo or shooting fouling shots etc. Too darn cold. Just showed up with a clean barrel and shot.

Good results. That polar biathalon looks like good stuff. I am waiting for mine to arrive as I ordered it on Wednesday, have a DIP rail enroute as well.

This might be my one “official” purchase of the year. Official being the one the wife knows about. :)

Thanks for sharing!

My T1x loves the CCI standard velocity, shot just a little better than the SK match, and the federal 711b, that shoot awesome in my MKII, did not preform so well in the tikka.

There is a post on Sniper's Hide where a guy says his shoots as well as his KIDD Supergrade rifle. Says he had one 0.570 group at 150 yards and another 1.0" group at 150 yards with Wofl Match Extra ammo.

wolf match would be equivalent to our SK rifle match, hence why I keep saying you have to test lot numbers to find the hum dinger

The last time I checked Cabelas they have the .22 20" in stock for $679.

I just read a couple more threads on the rifle, it's a fairly chunky barrel, nearly 3/4" dia at the muzzle if the measurements were correct.

Picked up some new ammo to try in it (sk rifle match and sk biathlon sport) and wow, does it ever like sk biathlon sport. All 5 shot groups at 50 yards. I know I flinched pretty good on that second last target. I used the first 10 rounds out of the box for fouling before shooting this target.

Just for giggles I measured it, .726. Mine is the 16” variety. I don’t find it clunky at all maybe because it’s so short. I was on the fence with the length and a gunsmith told me that he thought it would make a nice 50 yard bush gun. Now that I have it, I agree.
