Tried out my newly acquired Tikka for the first time today at the range with factory 100g Winchester loads. Needless to say, I was very impressed. This was my best 5 shot grouping at 100yds. Heck, if she's this good with factory loads, what will she do with handloads? Quite the nice little gun!

I have bigger calibers, Paul, just wanted something a little lighter. We also have caribou and coyotes. And, not to open the debate again, but many a caribou and moose have been shot with the .243. Myself, I prefer to use the .358 for moose, but I think the .243 would not be way out of line for caribou.

I have 2 T3 Lite S.S. in .308 and 22-250 to say that they are accurate is an under statement. I don't usually expect off the shelf hunting guns to group 5 shots together , so typically I shoot 3 shot groups. Both of these guns make little 3 leaf clover patterns of bullets all touching when I touch them off 3 times. I am quite certain if one is not touching the other 2 it was a loose nut behind the trigger ...........ME !
Best guns I have owned off the shelf, and after #####ing at the Sako Rep. about the cost of extra clips at the Toronto Sportsman Show he threw a clip on the floor and challenged me to break it. Having never been shy about stomping the sh__t out of stuff when offered I gave it hell. No luck , I handed it back intact ! Dats a some tough plastic !
Play Safe ! Good shooting

Tikka T3 Lite 270 WSM

Lucky soul that I am, my wife bought me a Tikka T3 Lite at a Ducks Unlimited Auction while i was away playing hockey. Damn is the action smooth, and accurate too. I ordered it in a 270 WSM because a buddy already had the dies and swears by this caliber as an all round flat shooting round. He's been hunting moose with his 270 WSM using 160 grain handloaded Nosler Partions. I'm doing the same but haven't had any luck filling my tag yet. Have fun at the range with your new baby. It's addicting trying to improve your groupings once you have a tack driver in your arsenal.:ar15:

T3 Lite SS .243

I found mine in the EE earlier this year, and true to form, accuracy is impressive.
My last range session at 100 yds, pulled one

200 yds

and 300 yds - still need to work on tightening this one, but thats a dead deer if I can carry a bench into the bush!

The .243 is a nice caribou round, especially for Labrador. Too bad we can't use it for coyotes unless you happen to be hunting a big game license. :(

No argument here. I'm buying some 60gr Partitions for my 22/250 for use on deer, but I too would prefer my 358 for moose. :)
