I'm in the market for a new shooting iron soon (tax time) and this is one that ticked me, who has one and what is your opinion?

I have a t3 lite and it is a top notch quality rifle. I'm not particularly fond of most of the wood I've seen on factory tikka hunters but there are some nice ones. You won't be unhappy,

i have not shot it in yet, bit it does have a Rapid Z600 bore sighted. The walnut is very good, i had it apart to install a stainless recoil lug and re-tourque the action. Its .243 win . blued barrel.
The Hunter has alot of good features. free floated barrel, very good extractor, spring loaded ejector, hammer forged barrel, and light it is.

Next best would be (IMHO) a Sako or a Winchester.

Cheers!

I have a T3 Hunter .243 and it is amazing. I love the look of it, but what really does it for me is the incredibly smooth action. Definitely one of my favorite rifles.

You are not overly far away, so if you make it up to my neck of the woods I would be more than happy to head to the range with you and let you shoot it...

Thanks for the offer! :) I was looking at the T3 lite but I already have my foul weather rifle, I want another "nice" rifle. I've been a Winchester guy for most of my days, got a bad one, now I've been loving Savage, have/had a few and they all shoot amazing, but lack the bling. :)

Nice shooter with class - bought this one for my son this past Christmas in 30-06. Nice wood. Since pic was taken I have scoped it with a Redfield 3-9x40 using Warne Quick Release rings. First 100 yd 3shot groups off a hasty rest were about 1 1/4" if I remember correctly. I'm sure that MOA is doable.

I wish they made the stainless fluted hunter T3 more. I love that gun, I did have a .222 but not fluted and it was a great rifle, Only sold it to get the .22-250. Never seen a Tikka that wasnt a shooter.
