I took out my bolt and started playing with and turned the bolt shroud (proper terminology???) as if the gun is fired. Now I am not sure how to reset the bolt back to unfired position so that I can put it back into the gun. Has anyone done that before. I really am an idiot.

I'm not sre exactly what the Tikka bolt is like, but you probably have to twist it and force it back the way it came! :D

I've done it by hand a few times, but some guys use a vise.

You probbaly need to "pull and twist" :D

Okay I figured it out. It was basically like you guys said, I had to pull back the pin mechanism then turn. Thanks.

PS I am still am moron for doing it in the first place. :)

Everyone does it once or thrice ;)

Yep did the same thing with my a-bolt. i was stumped but a small screwdriver a little coersion can do wonders.

HAHA! Sorry, this is funny. I did the exact same thing when I brought my shiney new T3 home from the store. It was VERY stiff to get reset, but when your going out to the range with your buddy the next day and don't want to appear like an idiot you FIND a way to get it reset at all costs.

I think the shroud itself needs to
be removed first before the striker can be reset.
No, you don't need to remove the shroud, and don't even try.. good chance you'll break it.
