Tikka t3 metal weight

What does a factory t3 weigh? Everything but the stock.

Put my t3 lite on the scale the other day bare rifle with stock was 6.5# the stock is pretty light so not to sure what it would take off.

Here's mine (270Win SS) as sent from the factory. I will try to get the stock off after work and get another weight for you but that's pretty light as is.

I just read that both the factory wood and synthetic weigh 28oz. So if my math is right, the barreled action should weigh 4lb 7oz.

24.4" 300wm 4lbs 7oz without lug

24.4" 300wsm Superlite (fluted brl) without lug 4lbs 3oz

plastic stock 28oz w/ lug

walnut stock 32oz w/ lug

Most of the different models I have used could finish at 20 or less with a 0.8" decelerator.

Not a tikka fan in the least..... But for some reason I am super interested in where this thread goes..... Must be the double gun effect.......

Looks it would shave +/- 8 oz from the rifle w/o any other changes.

AFAIK ... They are exact copies of the sporter stock. None in production yet.

It's probably not going anywhere. I had an idea, and would like free rein with one - but I'm coming to my senses that I don't need another hunting rifle.
