tikka t3 scope mounts?

We use mostly Leupold rings and bases for Tikkas. Optilok is used once in a while but in my opinion not required for most applications as they are more than twice as expensive. PHil.

I use opti locks on all my tikka rifles, if you are spending $1000.00 on a gun and $1000.00 on a scope what is an extra $90.00 on mounts.
Not to mention they are extremely well built and if you need to take the scope off, when you put it back on it is never more than a couple of clicks from zero.

I avoid them ,because I find that the screw heads are soft, and the Leupolds are just as strong. I certainly don't mind spending extra cash if it offers some advantage, but to me, the Opti locks don't offer any advantage.

I use an Evolution GunWorks (EGW) HD picatinny rail, with Leupold rings, on my Tikka T3 Battue.
Some gunsmithing was required to adapt it to the Battue sights. It offers a very good range of mounting distances to adapt to different eye reliefs.

I used burris mounts & rings on my tikka...half the price, and just as effective. The optilock set up is nice, but the price is ridiculousy overpriced...similar to tikka magazines....and tikka rifles, for that matter. Everything tikka is a bit overpriced, even though I am a owner myself. When you pay $100 for a plastic magazine, it makes you wonder how popular tikka would really be, if their stuff was priced a little more competetive.

ordered the rifle last night in 30-06 with a limbsaver. Will look around for a set of rings when it gets here.

Thanks for all the opinions and help. Putting a bushnell elite 3-9 x40 on it.
