I've owned Tikka rifles for years and I recently bought x2 new Tikka Strata's in 30-06. I can't get the bolt knob off one of the them to clean the firing pin. I'm very familiar with how to remove it. I've tried smacking it with a brass punch to get it to move and the thing just won't budge. The other Strata and my other Tikka bolt knobs come out no problem. Any suggestions?

Perhaps try putting a heat gun on the bolt body? Some penetrating oil around where the bolt knob slides into the body? Thats a tricky one with the nice black finish on the whole bolt...

Yeah tried the oil trick but haven't tried heat yet. Ill probably bring the bolt back to the store I bought it from and see if they can figure it out...

My CTR was also difficult on the first disassembly. I attributed it to the extra black coating as my original T3 is stainless and came apart easily from day 1.

^^^ This. A thou either way when rotating the firing pin will make removal a pain in the butt. Sometimes they will need to be tapped back in until the coating starts to wear in.

Thanks! I played around with it for a good hour wiggling the firing pin in different directions. I really think this thing needs to be forcefully punched out which I'd rather have the shop I bought it from attempt. I've already scratched up the black paint pretty good.
