Tikka T3 Superlite with B & C Medalist or stock Sako A7?

Sako A7 over the Tikka T3 superlite,
But a T3 in a B&C over the A7 roughtech.

The A7 RT is great with the heavier profile fluted barrel, but that stock is flimsier in the forend than a Savage syn.

The rough tech has a b&c stock. If it's forearm is flimsy so is the b&c on the tikka

Interesting, I'm a T3 owner but have never handled an A7. On paper they don't seem terribly different to me. What puts the A7 ahead for you?

A real short action, not a long action with a blocked mag. Makes no difference if you are buying a long action chambering. Three lug bolt giving a shorter bolt lift. Steel feed lips in the mag. Better feeling stock than the standard T3 Lite stock.
Bolt lock release button like the 75/85. Barrels come out of the same hammer forging shop so no difference there. Triggers are the same except for the aforementioned bolt lock release.
Some guys like the "Total Control" mag latch like the 85. I can take it or leave it.

The A7 and the T3 are more different than they are alike.

Not trying to derail, but is the A7 Tecomate and Roughtech the same thing?

The Tecomate lists having the B&C stock, the Roughtech just lists that models stock features.

Roughtech is a medium contour barrel and they are heavy with the B&C stock. My bro in law has one in 30-06 and it weighs 7lb 12oz without a scope. My T3 Compact in a B&C stock weighs 7lb 1oz with a scope, the difference is huge. Pick up a Roughtech and you will see what I mean. It's confusing because most of the marketing material for the Roughtech as weighing less than 7lbs which couldn't be more wrong,

Good points and great article for comparison. I'd like to see one in person one of these days

I would go with the A7.
I never liked the B & C stock, got rid of it, didn't like the feel of thicker wrist and forend.
My Superlite has a Roberston stock.
I like the stock on my A7.
You need to try them to know what works for you.
Good Luck

Any issues with your A7 loading and unloading? How well does it eject the spent cartridge? Thanks.

This weekend while shooting off the bench if I cycle the spent case slowly, a few times it did not eject and stayed on top of magazine. seems to be ok most of the time, but I do need to shoot it more. The only problem feeding so far was with Hornady Match 155 gr A-MAX, tight fit and wouldn't go in chamber properly, had to load them one at a time. I usually hunt and target shoot with Federal and never had problems with those.
