I had the opportunity to try out a Tikka T3 Tactical in .308 Cal at our local range here in Lower Mainland BC.
I took various ammo to see how it will fare in comparison with Hornady Match ammo in 165 & 168 grain. The ammuniton I brought over was:
: American Eagle 150 GR FMJ
: MFS 145 GR FMJ
: Nosler Custom Trophy Grade 165 GR Accubond
: Hornady Superformance 165 GR SST
: Hornady Match 168 GR BTHP
I first zeroed the rifle @ 100 meters with Hornady Supeformance 165 GR SST & got these three group shots as shown on the pic below.

I then zeroed the rifle with Hornady Match 168 GR BTHP & tried the various ammo I mentioned above on the 100 meter target & got the groupings shown in the pic below. Note that you will see additional punch holes on the top righ target in addition to the original 3 group shots. That was the Hornady Match 168 GR shots. ( By the way, all the scattered shots you see on the black target below the bullseye is a result of AR 15 shots made from standing position).
The one on the top right is the Hornady Superformance 165 GR SST (apparently it shoots about 2 inches low in comparison to the 168 GR Match BTHP. Right underneath it on the same target is American Eagle 140 GR FMJ groups.
On the bottom right target, I shot a group of Nosler Custom Trophy Grade 165 GR Accubond.
On the bottom left target, I shot a group of MFS 145 GR which seem scattered.

I finally shot 5 rapid shot groups of Hornday Match 168 GR BTHP on 4 targets @ 100 meters as shown below.
I am not much of a shooter, but I would say I am pretty happy with the outcome. I intend to do follow up pics in the near future of shots taken on longer ranges.

By the way, this was the rifle responsible for the results shown above. In case you are wondering about the scope, it's a scope I took off my other Tikka Rifle; Millett TRS-1.
