This is the second part to the quicky range report done last week.
http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55854
Part 2
- Same rifle and setup as per last time.
- ensured that the stock screws were tightened.
Conditions
- Temp was about +4 Celsius, mix of sun and cloud, not much wind to speak of.
- all shooting was done at 100 yards off the bench.
The Shoot
- Total of 40 rounds were fired, all were 5 rd groups.
Group 1 and 2
- Brit Army ammo
- 1.12" and 1.00"
Group 3 and 4
- Mex Match. Brit Army case, powder and primer, capped off with a Nosler 155gr J4 Competition bullet.
- 0.80" and 0.56"
Group 5
- Factory Winchester Supreme 168gr Nosler HPBT Match
- 0.70"
Group 6
- Factory Federal Gold Medal Match 168gr Sierra Match King
- 1.28"
Group 7 and 8
- These were some quicky handloads done up that have proven to shoot well for me in the past.
- Group 7: Nosler 168gr J4 Competition, 41.0gr Reloder 15, Norma Case, Federal 210M primer. 0.92"
- Group 8: Sierra 175gr Match King, 40.0gr Reloder 15, Norma Case, Federal 210M primer. 0.68"
Observations
- The Holland muzzle brake is sweet. These 40 rounds went quickly and I wasn't in the least beaten up.
- The action of this Tikka is the smoothest I've ever shot.
- I still want one.
