Now for Part 3

There were some questions about the stock and the bedding.

Anyway,, there isn't any real bedding. It is just a plastic stock that is bolted/screwed to the receiver. This is a picture of the inside of the stock and I have circled the two screw holes in red. I have circled in blue what appears to be a recoil lug. It is friction fitted into the stock and you can remove it with little difficulty. I have circled it in blue.

This is a pic of the removed recoil lug.

And this is a pic of the underside of the receiver,, beside the stock.

Looks cheap,, but it certainly seems to work. The barrelled action almost snaps in and the fit is very tight. It will not fall out or move, even with the screws not fitted.

Well,, that's about it for this one. I suppose I will have to return this rifle to it rightful owner one of these days. I am in no hurry,,

Thats certainly an odd setup. If it had a different stock material & more conventional bedding system I'd run out and buy one, but maybe I'll see how other people do with these for a couple years first.

Thanks for posting that.

This recoil lug setup is very common and very easy to build into a stock. The one I hate is the Rem style, if you have that you may as well have a nut like the Savage.
