I downloaded the manual to the T3 Stainless I bought, and it makes several references to a 'set' trigger mode where the pull is reduced to 7-9oz. It says to push the trigger forward to set mode. My rifle does not do this. I've tried it cocked and uncocked, bolt opened and closed. I have not tried it loaded, but I see no reason why it would work loaded. I don't have snap caps (some used brass if needed).

Anyone enlighten me if perhaps not all T3's had this option? Rifle has functioned flawlessly, previous owner kept it 10/10 condition. I have not had it apart.

I wish they would offer the set trigger more regularly. They are great for off-hand shooting. I wonder if you could order the set-trigger and swap out the regular trigger, and if so how much it would cost.

on mine i skipped the whole "manual" thing and just backed the set screw out until it just resists a bit without forcing it. without doing anything except removing the trigger guard. that was years ago. works great. mines a T3 lite and im quite sure that nearly all the newer tikka t3 triggers are adjustable by backing off the set screw

I have not adjusted anything because the gun functions perfectly. I was just curious exactly how one sets the trigger (perhaps I'm doing something wrong).

Thanks,

If it has the single set trigger, you push it forward after the gun is cocked, and it clicks into a different position that is much lighter. If yours doesn't do this, then your T3 doesn't have the single set trigger. I had an $800 Stainless T3 lite and it didnt have the set trigger.

Well there must be a "set" trigger and an 'adjustable' trigger available. I think the "set" one is the one mentioned above in the higher end models and the adjustable one is the one i mentioned that as far as i know is in most of the basic T3s. remove trigger guard with the two screws and there is a 2.5mm set screw that goes right into the trigger mechanism. tighten to increase and loosen to decrease pull. have a look and you know if you have the set trigger or the adjustable. as i said before, as you loosen it off, it will just start to get a bit tight near the end and thats your lightest setting. take it real easy and obviously dont force anything though. i cant imagine it would take much torque to do some damage. i have the cheapo T3 lite and thats the system i have anyway. My manual said nothing do to with clicking the trigger out another position.
