Hi,

I recently bought a Tikka t3x 300 wm and want to get into reloading and realize the magazine the the rifle can only feed a certain COAL. Do any of you have experience with modifying it yourself or taking it to a gunsmith to accommodate longer COAL? What have you guys done? Any feeding issues? Thanks in advance

Depends what bullet a guy wants to shoot - there are lots of bullets that would end up with the ogive INSIDE the case neck when loaded to 3.34" OACL.

Last Tikka 300WM I had measured 2.955" to the lands, so... You do the math,

Here's a photo of Berger Factory Ammunition to illustrate my point;

Unknown Munitions just released a DBM for Tikkas, I haven't handled one but reviews have been glowing. AICS will get you to 3.5ish, but single feeding is always an option too.

Here's a great trick for that;

I run a magazine that handles a 3.42 COAL. Tikka’s really aren’t designed for longer unless you start changing bottom metal and potentially some machine work.

Plus not sure what the barrel twist is but it might not work well with some of the longer stuff. (I believe there are two different twists but not sure.)
