I picked up a Tikka arctic. Rear sight drum has a bit of play, I heard there was some rifles that went back to tikka for warranty, the replacement rear sight is apparently 0-500 instead of 100-600 meters.
Is this correct? Not much info out there.

Thanks

The rangers got the improved sights with square front post. We civilians get the gen1 sight and tikka will not sell the improved sight to civilian ( this is what I got from the distributor) . I tried calling tikka / sako in finland but get put on hold indefinitely. I get around 0.8-0.9 MOA with the gen 1 irons at 100 yards so I am still rly satisfied with them but yeah, would be nice to get the improved sights. But then again Bloke on the range liked some elements better on the gen 1 and on my end my clicks are very positives.

I just bought one. It has a larger zero setting then goes 1-5, six settings in total. My front sight is a blade.

There are a few videos from bloke on the range with the rifle. The original one, second one the sights were upgraded ( which is what my rifle has), third is shooting it in a competition.

where did you buy it from to get the improved sights ? I was told by stoeger Canada that they cannot get them from Tikka. Do newer arctic ship with them ?

talked to them 2 weeks ago and told me tikka only replaced the sights on the c19 and not on civilian rifles. let me know if you have any luck.

I just contacted Stoeger and was told that with in the next few weeks they will hear back from Tikka weather Stoeger can import the current sights available for the Arctic. They were unable to tell me what sights (mk 1 or mk2 )come on the Arctics being sold in Canada right now.
