Hi.

Looking to see if you think decent deal. A friend has a t3x stainless with vortex diamondback scope 6-24 and cadex strike nuke chassis.

From what I can see the rifle is 1300, the scope 600 and the chassis about 700.

All plus tax around around 3k?

For used what would you think reasonable? 2k or more?

Second, comments on this set up? Obviously set up to be a precision shooter.

Is it a stainless lite or a varmint ? The lite barrels aren’t really ment for precision rifle shooting because they heat up fast. The scope is lower model but works fine for most people.

The chassis is kinda like the mdt xrs and could be used for hunting dual purpose. It’s not a crazy heavy setup. I would maybe change to scope. I have a few heavy barrel hunting rifles that likely weigh similar.

Used depends on conditions of everything. I’d say 900 to 1k for the rifle. 3-400 for the scope and probably 500 ish for the chassis. So now you’re looking at 2k max. You also have to factor in he paid for a full rifle but you’re truly only getting a barrelled action put into the chassis and non of the factory parts. So that is immediate value loss of stock, magazine and bottom metal/plastic. Which can all be sold for money. 80$ for a mag, 200$ for a stock and $50 for a bottom metal/plastic.

Best thing you can do is find each piece online used and compare prices.

Varmint. Thanks. Any other opinions on the set up or something you’d rather have for plinking at 100-200 yards and coyote?

Honestly depends on shooter preference. I mean the tikka factory T3X stock allows the user to switch between traditional stock to a pistol grip for bench shooting along with wider forend.

The setup sounds decent enough for this if you’re seated or prone for long periods!

What cartridge is it ? Anything super big will destroy the coyotes!

$1900 … the scope is shat
$1700 because the chassis looks chunky.

You can get mdt for $600 add your own stock ,buffer tube and pistol grip for $150
Used CTR $1200
Used vortex $300
$2200 +\-
But I guess it all depends on chambering as well
