Please share with me your thoughts on this rifle…
(I have the Tikka T3X Lite SS in 223 and it is laser beam 3/8”@100m accurate.)
Has anyone had first-hand experience with this Tikka T3X ‘Compact Tactical’ rifle in 308?
Accuracy at longer 4-600 yd ranges?
I’d Love to hear some thoughts and your experience on this…
Thanks Guys!!

Put it in a good stock or chassis and you have a deadly accurate rifle. I put mine in a Manners stock, the factory barrel put 10 rounds under .7”.

Mine was a very accurate rifle from the box. Took it and threw it into a Mcmillian stock and really bumped the accuracy up!

Only reason I sold it was to buy my dream rifle...

Have shot a friends CTR 6.5 cm with factory ammo in factory stock. Definitely less then 1 MOA.
I have a Tac A 1 in 6.5 sm. Same barrel as CTR. 3/4 MOA with factory ammo. Not sure about 308, but definitely like Tikka 6.5

I have a lefty in 260 rem. Absolutely love it. I personally don't have an issue with the factory stock where most guys dislike it. My factory trigger dialed right down is crisp and clean. It's very accurate and I've had it out to 900 yards with ease with plans to go farther asap.

Here's a pic of the first 5 shots out of mine at 100 with a few patches between each shot.

Thank you so much guys for your input…
I am picking one of these up tomorrow, it does not have a muzzle brake on it so I am looking for a muzzle brake, nothing fancy, nothing too large, just something that does it’s job for around 100-150 bucks if that’s possible…
Al Flaherty’s has a Tikka muzzle brake… I’m not sure if that’s the best choice for this rifle though...

Insite Arms Heathen brake or one from Area 419 are smaller than the Tikka factory one and more effective plus you can get them fitted correctly for the caliber. A bit more than what you were looking for, but you may find a Black Friday deal.

Mine does great out to 600m with 147gr Hertenberger surplus, further than that it starts to wander, 168 and 175 are good to 800 but I havent really pushed past that. I took a few swings at the 1200 and 1600m but no ding.

That said I don't measure groups, I count dings.

Insite Heathen without a doubt the best I've tried.

thank you everyone for your opinions and your experience… I picked one up, I have a Heathen brake on the way…
I will stick with this stock for now and see how it goes
All I need now is a good bipod for it, I would be interested in suggestions, Harris? Atlas? VersaPod?

I ran a harris on mine to save putting the adapter on it, and it works fine, although I've mostly switched to bags now. I picked up an Altas for my CZ MTR 22, but have yet to fit it to the CTR. Nice but $$$. I'd stick wiht a Harris for now and see how you like it. I've had my Harris for years on many guns trouble free.

Thanks bro, which model did you have? The only concern I have is I need it to swivel a bit just in case I’m on uneven ground or uneven table...

Good choice.
at the Guardian LR PRS competition this year in Ireland I managed to sneak away from our stand and have a closer look at shooters on the line. The handling of their rifles and also how shooters got on when rifles were swopped. We have a few of our customers using T3 actions as well as T3CTR in 6.5CM. Looking closely at the shooters cycling it seemed clear that T3 actioned rifles operated smoother. When rifles were swopped between a two man team the person who received the T3 actioned rifle had no issues but the other could not get on. In one case a bolt was quickly lubricated. It was so obvious that it is clear for me which action I would choose if I would enter one of these comps in future.
The two stainless 308 CTR rifles I had/have both shot exactly the same groups with the same factory ammo well under 1/4MOA and both had within a few fps the same speed. I did notice a bit of wondering at over 600yd when the barrel heated up, meaning for serious long range shooting a custom barrel would be hard to beat.
