Hi!
Not a long time ago I bought used Tikka T3X CTR (.308). But because I didnt used it since then, I found a strange "problem" with rail only now. The problem is with first (from the barrel) screw. It wasnt torqued and there is small gap between rail and the barrel. Another 5 screws was torqued correctly.
From what I found, it suppose to be only 5 screws and there is only 5 holes.
So the question to the owners - do you have only 5 screws? What do you have on that place? a cap?

Thanks

The rail is not suppose to look like that.

On the T3 Tactical that I had there was a screw in the same place that also stuck out but the rail was flush with the receiver. The reason for the screen protruding: it’s so you can hook up a mirage band. The factory TRG / Tikka muzzle brake has a similar screw.

Yeah that’s for attachments, the rail is threaded and the action is not drilled out so if you screw it in it will bend the rail. It almost looks like you already have..

This is correct. If the OP has the manual it should verify... my ctr had the raised screw. I almost torqued it down...

Thanks to everybody. Now I understand, why they put additional screw, for an attachment.
Yes, the rail is bended a little now, but I didnt torqued that screw.
Again, thanks a lot for your help
