How does a person clean a bore snake before using it on the next cleaning?

A bore snake is a last resort option. Good in the field if dirt finds its way into the barrel (tape over muzzle precludes this) though.

The bore snake will pick up carbon and imbed itself in the snake material, this is not good for the barrel running a dirty abrasive snake through the barrel.

Bore SNAKES are for Emergency use in the field ONLY ! I NEVER use them unless you have too as they COLLECT all the SH*T your cleaning out of your barrel and then DRAG it ALL thru again ?? Makes no SENSE to me ! jmo RJ

If and when using a brush on the end of a one piece rod what is the standard procedure ?

I think I read that you do not pull the brush back through the barrel towards the action if it has exited the muzzel as this can damage the crown ?? Maybe I should use You Tube !

Nylon brush no Problem ! - Some guys wont PULL the brush back thru BUT LOTs DO ! Still a LOT softer then CM or SS ! I pull the brush back thru ! RJ

I've owned a half dozen Tikka T3 rifles. Four of them were stainless, one of which I still have and the other two were chrome/moly. (blue)

The only break in any of these rifles required, was to clean off the preservative they coat them in, for shipping, storing.

Every one of them shot less than moa, with selected handload right from the get go. Don't fix what isn't broken if your rifle shoots well with the loads you're using.

Of course, if you just want to shoot it, you will find that Tikkas don't seem to collect jacket fouling like other off the shelf rifles. I believe they lap all of their bores, before they leave the factory.

Not sure though. Mine all looked like they had been lapped.

If you’re hunting with it don’t clean the bore until the end of the season. Sight it in , leave it alone , clean the bore at the end of the season. Wipe down with oily rag after a days hunt is all it needs.
If you just can’t handle not cleaning the bore then just do a pass or the with a bore snake and clp. Don’t go scrubbing and patching and all that jazz.
