Just picked up the rifle grabbed a Nikon monarch 3 2.5-10x42mm and gonna grab a MDT Picatinny Rail, now I was thinking of using Burris 1" Zee Rings Weaver Style Bases.
Just wondering what you guys think of that set up? Open to ideas this is my first hunting rifle.

This system will work fine. Use good rings like Burris Signatures with inserts. The rail will allow you some flexibility for scope location. Want to make it lighter? Use std Weaver bases. They work fine.

The Talley LWs are a good suggestion as well.

I see you're working the forum hard for info, so I'll put in my two cents. I've had mixed experience with Burris rings. The clamping arrangement makes it difficult to ascertain how much pressure is actually being applied to the base (ie you tighten the screw well and the ring works loose.) Also had the ring screw strip the threads in the ring half - metal seems soft.
For a hunting application, something like Talley or Leupold QRW (quick release weaver) would be a better choice.

Anyone have a source for talley lightweight, height specs?

I went through this when I was ordering for Kimber mounts and eventually found them but my googlefu isn't finding them this time.
Why ring height isn't in mm or inches, instead of low, med, high, is beyond me.
