Hi
so finally had the chance to bring my new rifle to the range, First of all this not a highly Technical Guy doing the review but a regular person who just happens to love shooting and enjoying every bit of it.
The Rifle started as a 308 Win Varmint Model Stainless 20' in Heavy threaded Barrel.
MDT LSS XL gen2 chassis
Since I still have some spare parts from my ARs, (Buffer tube , STR Stock, and Grip), might as well use them.
Scope is a Bushnell Elite Series LTRS 4-18x44 G3i
Rings Vortex Pro series Low
Mount- Leupold for Tikka 0Moa
Bipod - Atlas
Before heading to the range, adjusted the trigger to minimum weight set from the factory, was not able to measure the pull but a bit of improvement, would love to have it lighter. The MDT chassis fits perfect to the action, the mags MDT ( steel/ polymer) is a little bit tight, maybe because I'm use shooting ARs, works perfectly though.
With the scope installed and chassis, the rifle is heavy for hunting on my opinion, but remember I'm almost 60, and a cute ( short) so for those machos out the it might not be an issue, but since have no plans of taking out for hunting so no issues for me.
Actual shooting, only 3 brands and type of ammo were used since don't have a stack of 308, Hornady 168 Match, PMC 147, and Bernaul
The Hornady as expected shoots great, in the pics attached 3 shots were touching and the 2 were less than 1", remember this shot by a rookie, the PMC was not too bad either, the Bernaul, well forget it.
have to mention that the Hornady is a little bit tight when chambering compared to the PMC, measured from the Datum Line it reads 1.626” while PMC is around 1.625”
