Tikka trigger pull weight?

I just lowered both of my Tikka's to two pounds by adjusting the screw to the magazine spring bolt - using an allen key. Very crisp and consistant pull weight. Not sure why I purchased the yodave trigger spring though

On 7 of my tikkas I have backed the set screw out till it touches the bolt that holds the trigger assembly on. They are just over 2 lbs. on my Tikka 6.5-284 i puta yodave spring and it is about 1-1/4 lbs.

How do you know when it touches the bolt? IE, how do i judge how far to back it off? Thanks!

I like between 2-2.5 lbs for most situations which is easily achievable with the factory springs, I have the YoDave kit but it is not needed for a hunting rifle so I put the factory springs back in. On my custom CTR PRS match rifle I bought a Timney two stage, I haven't had much time behind it yet but so far I do like it.

When you unscrew the bolt with the Allen key it will auto stop when it hits the other bolt so when it stops don't force it, just adjusted mine and my wife's to the lowest settings. Its easy and can't accidentally unscrew it to much that the spring shoots out cause you unsure.

The stock trigger is pretty good so I saw no need to adjust it. I'm thinking it's around 4 lbs and crisp.

Sorry for the late reply. When the little Allen (trigger adjustment screw) bolt is backed out it will touch the bolt that holds the trigger assembly on and you won’t be able to turn it any further.

11 ounces on my hunting rifle, feels like 8 pounds compared to my 1.5 ounce target triggers. I know to keep the finger off the trigger blade until it's time to send it......

I'd be afraid to sneeze with your gun in hand, Yodave. :) How does one best determine that the trigger is not too light. The bump test?

always use the bump test............especially if it is something you carry, range rifles don't matter as the last time i fell out of a chair at the range and hit the floor it was recoil induced
