I relise there are alot of good folks making the hunting laws in BC and trying hard to improve them, BUT when I can take my wife for lunch at KFC on a day were its about 32 degrees outside and I have to listen to a table full of so called 1st nations jackasses bragging how they just shot a cow moose and the calf got away, but the cows still in the bush cause they only had a car and were waiting for a freind with a pick-up to come and help out???? WTF is this SH^T? its realy time to squash this whole my rights BULLSH^T and make it an even playing field for everyone, hell there is documented proof that the first moose shot in this area was in the early 1950s so how is this there rights to hunt and there traditional food when the dam things werent even here 70 years ago???? time to get some letter writting going on to the BCWF about this crap , now today there is a calf on its own and a dead cow that by now will have bone-sour and be rotting in the heat , and this is there rights?

these people make me :puke:

I agree, it's long overdue, what you described makes me sick also. But if the gov. did anything the 1st nations would put up roadblocks and shoot at cops.

I would have called them a bunch of Poachers, and thrown chicken bones at them.

As for armed road blocks in BC... bring it on.

Maybe you need to get involved wiht the BCWF, they can always use help. If you are not a member, become one.

It's certainly not the BCWF's fault that natives are abusing their privileges.

Same old crap, eh Bones? I wouldn't blame the BCWF though. It's the f**king useless gov't that won't stand up to the so-called "1st nations" bull$hit  Those hunks of elected excrement consist of spineless dip$hits who want to blow sunshine up everyone's a$$ on the world stage. Makes me want to :puke:

Rant off...

no but they make the hunting regulations do they not? they have the ability to influence the laws pertaining to hunting and fishing. I t dosnt realy matter anyhow cause as soon as someone tries to do something about it, it will become a racism argument, as for armed standoffs well this isnt Ontario we pepper spray all ages of protesters trust me I saw it on the news :)

as for lunch and me being quiet....obviously you dont know me very well atall ;)

They may write the regs and try to enforce the regs, but the current judicial system in our country would cave on the issue, like it has so many times in the past.

Case in point, the Native Indian pitlampers in Southern Vancouver Island BC.

As a member of the 1st nations I do agree with you. But hopefully more of the land clams like the one in delta will pass. Then we will not have worry about this ever happing again.

Good to hear from someone with some exposure to the subject. I'm curious, how will the land claims affect the system? Are they a final buy out from the government, ending special priviledges and benefits? If not, what do they do? I'm interested because I hear so much about these claims, but never hear what they actually do.

The BCWF does NOT make the regs. Where it that easy...

They make reccomendations to the MOE, that is it.

When it comes to natives the BCWF has NO power, it is POLITICAL. The BCWF has a "native affairss" commitee but it has no real teeth.

Take it up wiht your MLA.

I agree with what your saying Bones... but don't for a minute think that Ontario is softer than BC on Protesters. Remember Dudley George!!! Harris called in the OPP in 93 and shot the guy! Armed standoffs don't work... peacefull protest don't work either... by either side of this debate.
It is the Fed's that have made a clusterphuck of the native rights problem. The Provincial Ministries have thier hands tied!
Recently in Ontario we had the natives close 400 series highways and CN rail lines... this was billed by the natives as an awareness day... and the feds and the province did absolutely nothing.
I watch the same few natives fishing walleye at lock 19 every spring while the spawn is on... and there is nothing legally to be done about it!
Keep in mind that it is only a small percentage of the native population that treats the resource with this kind of disrespect. I know a lot of Natives that are good stewards of our common natural resources... they are the silent majority.

yes Clarke your right I had my wires crossed and apolagise for that, BUT the BCWF does have pull with the MOE and even if all they did was bust these guys take there guns and autos away ffor a couple months until some chickensh^t judge gave them back it would slow the poaching down, as for our mla well hes buisy trying to ban tanker trafic in smaller ports I hear up here so hes doing his share if destroying the north as wel.

Red my coments came from the recent road blockade and train I think it was, the dipsh^t sat on national TV and stated he had guns and would use them on the law if they bothered them, so they were left alone rather than sniped off and or hauled in as terrorists.
this my land bullsh^t is getting old, maybe a 100 years ago someone was done wrong BUT I refuse to kiss some lazy assed welfare draining ####### thats still crying and I refuse to apolagise for something I didnt even get to participate in!

YES this is still a rant about poaching moose!
this year so far and its only august 3rd I know of 17 moose shot now (or bragged about being shot) by 3 1st nations members in the lakes district area , last fall in late august this same group brought a reefer van into babine lake and filled it with sockeye salmon and hauled it off to vancouver to sell, they are alloud something like 150 fish per person for personal use, they had 2300 salmon , it was reported YES and I know this to be true as a buddy is married to the 1 guys cousin and they were there and watched it!

anyhow regardless they will keep raping the land and I will keep being pissedoff same sh^t different day

Clarke again I was under the impression that the BCWF wrote the regs not just influenced them, my apolagies

and Todd the chicken was good ! :)

I agree something needs to be done too. They will claim that it is their heritage to hunt BUT did their ancestors use rifles and pick ups?NO!!!
If they want to keep up their heritage then they should hunt like their ancestors did 200 years ago.If thye want to use modern equipment then obey the laws in place.
Hey bone-collecter,regarding the salmon,I find coolers full of salmon in the bush every year.It is just left to rot when they can`t sell it.Guess if you have too much it makes sence to just dump it rather then give it to the needy.
