Hello very helpful CGN members,

I just purchased a used but listed as in "very good condition" Timney 510 trigger (NOT from CGN (an auction site)). It turned up today and some things I am noticing (before installing);

- The shoe has noticeable play left to right.
- The safety arm is slightly twisted.
- The safety (grooved) head is bent and out of place a small amount.

I may not be able to send this back, so I am looking for some experienced people to tell me if they think this is now unusable or if there can sometimes be a little play left to right on the shoe (I was thinking of shimming it) and if I should just bend the arm back in place?

Thanks in advance!

Side to side slop is normal, I have a 2 stage Calvin elite and side to side is brutal for what the trigger cost, quite sad for a custom piece. The rest I can’t comment on as mine was brand new and mint, sounds like maybe his stock wasn’t inlet very good and he tweaked it to fit?

Besides that the trigger shoots good, wish they would address that slop, my trigger tech triggers are solid, wish they made a 2 stage. On a side note I just ordered a Cadex trigger so we shall see what they are like, maybe the Timney will be hitting the road.

Besides having to take it apart likely not, use to shim lots of paintball marker triggers back in the tourney playing days, but shouldn’t have to, it should be better designed from the factory. And to be fair I’m not a Timney hater, I have their two stage in my RPR and absolutly love it, love the curve of the trigger, isn’t sloppy, is crisp, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling when I shoot it lol.
