Hi,
Just bought a Timney trigger for my Savage Axis. When I put the bolt into the receiver it trips the firing pin before the bolt is fully engaged/cammed.
Anybody know how to fix this? I've asked Timney through their website but they may be a while.
Thanks for any help.
Glen

I don't know how if at all similar it would be to a Rem 700..but I had the same issue when I adjusted the trigeer pull too light..

U may want to stiffen the trigger pull and see if it helps...

If memory serves me correct there are two set screws on the trigger. I just kept playing around with mine till I got it to where I want it, about 2 1/2Lbs.
You may have to adjust your sear engagement and I believe that is adjusted by the set screw at the front of the trigger.

I had the folks at Timney email me today and they suggested that my sear engagement was out of whack. Took the thing apart another two times and messed with it a bunch. It seems to work now on dry firing. Live firing will be the true test. It already breaks much lighter than stock but is not as smooth as I hoped. Maybe with enough use it will smooth out.
Thanks for the info and interest,
Glen
