Anyone have the timney tactical trigger installed? I'm looking to put one on one of my rem 700's. It is strictly a target rifle so I'm not too worried about not having a safety. I think I would like the verticle trigger and the position adjustability would be nice. 4-8 oz sounds good too. Let me know what you think and where you have seen them in stock in Canada. Thanks.

There a good trigger, especially for the money. I prefer Jewell but that's not to say there's anything wrong with the Timney.

Have you ever had a 4-8oz trigger before? Most people don't realize how light that actually is.

I have 4oz on my target 22lr. I'd be lieing if I didn't say it's gone off accidentally with every person who has shot it. Including myself.

It's a firm test of the rules to keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction at all times.

Not to hijack - but what makes this trigger a "tactical" trigger?
First I've heard of it.

Like langnabger said, marketing. If anything it's there less tactical option. They should call there 510 trigger the "tactical" trigger if they want to use that term and this trigger should be called the "benchrest" trigger.

I've got one on my F-Class rifle and I'm reasonably happy with it. Had it set way too light to start, had to bring it up to 8 ozs, but that was an easy fix. My only gripe has been that the trigger shoe/post itself came loose from the bar it's threaded on to. A little Loctite appears to have solved that.

I agree. Being very light of pull and requiring virtually zero movement to discharge, it is anything but tactical.
Nice trigger but NOT tactical.
We carry the Timney line so can supply 1 if requested.

"...people don't realize how light..." Most don't realize how light a 4 pound trigger is. A trigger in ounces is far too light for a hunting rifle. Read the rules for a target rifle. Not every course of fire allows 'ounce' triggers.
"...what makes this trigger a "tactical" trigger?..." It's black with velcro closures. The term 'tactical' is nothing more than a marketing buzz word. It means nothing otherwise.
"...it's there..." It's where?

I just put a Timney 510 on my 223. I like it quite a bit for the little I've used it. For my needs the tactical would have been way to light. I bought from CI Distribution, good prices from what I found, and fast shipping.

I have one on my custom built 6-250ai awesome trigger for target shooting. I'm going to swap mine to a normal timney so its better for varmit hunting.

I have the 510 for my 223 as well, I guess I'll see how I like the tactical on my 308. I've never shot that light of a trigger before. Thanks for all the replies.

I try to keep my accuracy rifle triggers around the 21/2 pound mark, including the tactical Timney on my .284, wonderful trigger.

The tactical is limited to 10onces as per their website. I have one installed on my 5R and my groups opened up initially because I couldn't feel where it would break. Anything lighter than 1 pound is extemely light in my books, I have grown to like it though. Bought mine at Western Gun Parts local in Edmonton

4 ounces! yikes.

I couldn't get used to the set trigger on my browning a-bolt target. It was adjustable from 9-14 ounces. I had to switch it for something I could feel. I can't imagine going lighter!
