Anyone have trouble installing a timney I'm a sweed 38?
When I installed it the sear wouldn't drop enough to fire. And when I fitted it so it would I was unable to cycle the bolt?

I just fit a Timney trigger into a Mauser 96 that I purchased from TradeEx. I installed the rifle into a new Boyd's stock. The only issue I had was significant interference from the wood stock and the Timney trigger. It took some careful fitting and grinding to get the wood to clear the trigger assembly. After that they worked together like a charm.

Not sure if that is your issue but thought I would put my info out there just in case.
Regards,
Dave.

Are you absolutely sure you have the correct Timney model number? The information on my package says:

Featherweight Deluxe 93-96 Mausers
FDM95-6 Item #303

Now these were ordered for M96 6.5 x 55 that I bought from TradeEx and so far have fit perfectly. I am uncertain what difference, if any, there is between a M96 and a M38 but the Timney web site should show the proper model you need.

An email to Timney might be in order?

Sorry, not much help I know, but thought I would at least contribute something as there doesn't seem to be any cavalry on the horizon coming to help you.:)
Regards,
Dave

That's the same trigger I have. Been meaning to email timney just wanted to be 110% sure wasn't just me overlooking something. Even had a friend who did gun smithing look and he was baffled as well. Thanks for the input

The bottom of the Timney trigger in my Swede was binding on the trigger guard. Randy Bimson (Delisle Thompson Sporting Goods Saskatoon) carefully ground off part of the trigger. Once the trigger was no longer binding the sear would drop. Check your trigger clearance against the guard.
