My brother phoned me tonight saying he's recently had an issue with his trigger.
Its a Weatherby Vanguard 1, and he put a Timney with 3 position safety in it about 10 yrs ago. Said twice this hunting season it's done this:
Safety off, squeeze trigger. Feels like safety is still engaged, nothing.
Then another time hunting the rifle worked fine.
Then today, took the same rifle out and when attempting a shot on a whitetail the same issue came up.
I've tried looking up similar issues, but all I've found is people who encountered issues when first installing the trigger. Clearancing the stock for safety travel and the like.
Does anyone here have any experience that could help troubleshoot his problem?
He says there are no stock clearance issues, and it's intermittent. I suggested it's maybe internal to the trigger, parts do wear out.....
I have no experience with Timney triggers or Weatherby rifles myself.
Any thoughts or insight appreciated.
