I was planning on ordering a timney 1.5-3.5 trigger for a stiller tac-30 action and i was reminded that the Stiller has a side bolt release on the action itself negating the need to have the bolt release on the trigger itself like the normal rem700.

I'll take a look at the action and see what the bottom looks like, hell i'll take a pic and post it

Now before I cancel an order I made here and purchase another trigger. I like the timney trigger and have the same one on another rifle. If I have to spend the extra money on a jewel trigger I will but I'd like to stick with the current one if possible.

2 questions:

can you remove the bolt release button from the trigger and is it still operational?

OR

Can I have both releases with the Tac 30?

I think the bolt release tab on the Timney just comes off by undoing the screw holding it...

I don't think its attached to anything that makes the trigger function. I know when I took mine off (Rem 700 in HS stock) to hit it with the stone to smooth it out, everything seemed to still work. It looked to be just a piece of metal that was allowed to slide up and down outside the trigger housing?

Not 100% sure

The TAC 30 is not milled to take the 700 bolt stop. The 700 bolt stop release is removable from the trigger housing. It would not need to be removed but it would not be functional.
