I just saw the new Tippmann Arms M4-22 rifle and it looks awesome. Anyone know if it will be coming to Canada any time soon?

i wonder if its different because it cant swap upper/lowers? (im pretty sure the M&P 15 can if im not mistaken). plus its made by a paintball company, not sure if that matters

not that im aware. would be awesome to see but i doubt the RCMP would let that skirt by them, theyd rewrite the laws to make sure that an electronically full auto gun counts as actual full auto

These are very nice looking rifles - if the price was reasonable (somewhere around the cost of a real low to mid range AR) I'd buy one without thinking. The mags are a very good idea. I notice that it won't take AR mags (good thing) and it won't convert without being a danger - but given what happened with the "blaze" and the GSG5, it would be restricted. That doesn't mean I wouldn't buy it, no question that I would.
As far as the trigger thing goes - one press, more than one round means prohib - even the crank units got banned.

They don't have to rewrite anything.

Go read it for yourself.

The short version. If it fires more than one round per trigger pull, it is considered to be full auto, and thus, prohib. There is no differentiation, for whether it is mechanical or electronic.

E-triggers on paintball guns and such are getting a pass, only because they are not considered to be firearms.

I am not seeing anything in that M4 that would make me think it would even get a second's thought from the Lab, before it got stuck with a restricted Status. Unless it was able to be fitted with the afore-mentioned E-triggers, in which case they would simply block it out entirely.
