There's another thread here about a stool for hunting. I do a lot of calling for predators as well as hunting migratory birds. Most of my bird hunting is in stubble fields or on sloughs.
Here's the seat/vest I never leave home without.
It has a padded seat attached, so you never leave it behind. It is buckled to the pack so it can also be used seperately. The seat itself, folds underneath and buckles out of the way when walking. The pack has shoulder straps, a chest strap, and a waist belt.
It has pockets for 'stuff', a drink bottle and a hydration bladder inside if you are on an extended dry area day hunt.
But most important to me is that it has a lightweight frame in the pack designed so that the user can lean back and be supported.
This is absolutely the most comfortable and useful seat/vest/pack I've found. My clients try them on their hunts up here and usually end up buying one before they leave.
I use one for calling predators of course, but in combination with a ghillie suit they are deadly for Migratory birds in the fields or on the shoreline. no more blinds. Just lean back in the seat with the ghillie on, in the middle of your dekes, and wait for the birds.
