All I have right now is Titegroup for pistol reloads. Normally, I've been using it behind 155gr bullets, but I just got some 180 and 200gr Frontiers that I want to try in my 226.

Will that powder work, and where should I start? Or, should I go find a more suitable powder?

I've been looking at the powder burn rate charts and I'm not so sure where I stand.

Any help would be appreciated.

I use Titegroup in all my pistol loads; 9mm, 40SW & 45 ACP.

If you just need a starting load and not looking for a major PF, start with the following:
OAL = 1.160
Primer = WSP
Bullet = 180 grns
Powder = TG, Start with 4.4

What kind of loads are you looking to put together?
My minor IPSC load saw 3.3 grains of titegroup behind 180s - PF was in 135-140 range.
4.0 grains would still be a powder puff load with 180s, but a decent place to start.
4.0 grains under a 200 grainer shound net you in about a mid to full velocity load.
As always, I'd compare above to a loading manual.

Hmmm. Sounds like I'll start around 3.7ish for the 200 and 4 for the 180's?

I'm looking for a mid level target load with good accuracy, and up to now I was convinced that my pistol and slide spring liked the lighter bullets. I want to test that theory this weekend with some 155, 180 and 200s.

Is there a more suitable powder, or is TG fine?

Thanks guys!!

Titegroup is dirty when loaded light (but I guess what powder isn't?)
Burns pretty clean in full power loads. For the price, I'm not sure it can be beat.

I've gone to 9mm and VV N320 for my minor loads - Vitavouri is good stuff! (but you'll pay for it)...

For target loads I like 3.8g of TG behind 200g lead, I get pretty good accuracy. I have gone as low as 3.4, dirty but a nice powder puff load

I tried 4.0 behind the 200's to start but it was so damn cold that I really couldn't test with any repeatability. The Sig functioned fine with that load, however. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I'll keep at it. I guess I need an indoor membership somewhere, damn it.
