Ive ordered a 1000 rounds of 200 gr swc from Ben, and I need to find a decent powder to hurl these things down range...

I had my heart set on titegroup but sadly higginson doesnt have any and they dont know when they are getting more in. They dont carry bullseye

So, my choices are, N-320, Universal or Win 231.

am I over thinking this ? should I just toss a coin and make a decision ?

Winchester Super Target. cleaner than 231 and will get you well over 1k loaded rounds per 1lb powder. not hard to find wst around here.

I used Win231 for years before switching to Titegroup;
231 is an accurate powder that works well in the 45ACP except it can be a dirty burning powder.

231 was THE powderf or 45 for a long time. It will do fine from target loads to full house stuff and meters well. my 1911 with 200 swc lead and 5.0 of 231 shoots ragged holes at 25 yards from the bench (sadly not free hand but thatsme not the gun). It is a little dirtier than some of the newer powders but is very very linier and easy to load accurate ammo with.

just my 2 cents

VV310/VV350 are perfectly tailored for .45 acp,among the top cleanest burning powders and available at any stores holding a vihta stock.

as example, a load involving a 200gr bullit and VV310 :

min:3.7grs- max: 4.2grs, from 719 to 771 fps.

VV350 with the same 200grs bullit:

6.7grs min- 7.3grs max, from 916fps to 996fps.

VV340/310/350 are all good for .45's
