TNW ASR conversion kits

I emailed TNW a few times after getting mine in 9mm, asking about spare parts like trigger group and firing pin. No response of any kind. Useless to try in my opinion, but your mileage may vary. Seems like a mixed bag sort of company. I love the design. The execution was excellent, and I knew going in that I'd be modding a few things to make function perfect with my desired loads. But it's like they have a decent designer, decent machinists, and almost no concept of the fact that customers need the odd bit of support. And if they sell spare parts, show them on their website, why not actually sell them to people who bought their guns from Canadian distributors? Makes zero sense. I'll get around to making myself a spare firing pin sometime. Might even try spare trigger and sear, though those might be beyond my tooling.

Nope, did not think it was an option? Have you ordered direct from TNW?

I have in the past, I can't remember what they sent me, extractors and firing pins for sure as well as some of their hand guards and other accessories....it was pretty easy at the time but they are a strange company, bit hit and miss and Jaime who I was dealing with was not the best communicator at times.

HIcal is pretty brutal for doubling the price, or more in some cases.....

I just looked at what they have in stock and they want $49Cdn for an ejector spring which I assume is the extractor spring looking at the picture and given that there is no ejector spring.... TNW charges $3US for the same spring, and you can buy a spring kit with every spring the gun needs for $18.50 US.

Fair enough. I don't know the inner workings of distributor costs for TNW items for Canadian stores, but buying a 9mm spare barrel with nut for my ASR from HiCal cost over $350CAD once shipping and tax was covered. Kind of hurt. But there is no other option in Canada for a spare barrel... and I wanted one... Still, I like their ticket draws. Have one in now for the CZ Bren2, which is kind of exciting, a kitted-out $9,000 package for less than $25 to the winner.

Maybe in three or four more months the tickets will finally be sold...

Yeah, these things take time. Small site, low traffic. And their checkout system is weird for tickets/stickers - the easiest thing to do is pay double for 'shipping' but choosing in-store pick-up is cheap. No matter. I can wait. Maybe by Christmas!

Good luck!

Same to you if you have a ticket. Exciting stuff! Kind of like an actual battle rifle! Never had anything like that before. Ian McCollum really liked shooting one in a recent Forgotten Weapons video.

I called TNW and talked to a person right away. The lady recommended a distributor out of Alberta (not a site sponsor). Called that distributor and they said they have some parts and can get conversion kits in. Either PM me for the name of the distributor or call TNW.

So I take it TNW was not willing to ship you any parts directly?
As far as I'm aware, talking about non sponsor's is fine, you just are not supposed to post direct links to their business. There is one business that has been black listed completely but I believe they are in B.C.

TNW recommended North American Hunting Supplies, their pricing seams decent after exchange. I got better results over the phone than email. Quick google search will find them.

They list barrels and bolts but not lowers. Looking to go from 10mm to 9mm.

different frame...
even if you could find a spare lower frame It cheaper just to buy a 9mm version.

you could always just goto .45 acp with your current gun. If you reload its dirt cheap

I was spitting out 185s at over 1400 FPS out of mine with mid load of of power pistol powder and 1458 at 9.2 grains (max 9.5) is were i found the velocity plateau node.

Thanks for the load info. NA hunting supplies says $300 for parts to convert to 45acp, $500 for conversion to 9mm(yes that includes lower).
