TNW semi auto MG34 problem

Took the barrel out of my semi auto TNW MG34 and then closed the receiver and barrel shroud back without barrel in shroud. Now I cannot open the receiver and shroud anymore. I press on the receiver catch and the two parts will not rotate open. HELP LOL ! Thank you
 
I can’t remember if the recuperator rod plays a part in this too. Check that with a flat blade screwdriver. I’m thinking this has something to do with it too. It’s been a year or so since I’ve dicked around with it.

I’m working right now.... well, should be ;)

I’ll check when I get home if you don’t figure it out by then.

Back to weed eating.
 
stick screw driver in it from what would of been the chamber and press the pin back, never hit gun with hammer, Brutal

I understood what you meant but rubber mallet is not answer. Not when you just use screw driver to just push this part stopping it from opening. its spring loaded, push back and open
No force. I had to do this as I did the same thing.
 
Eh. To each their own. I use a rubber mallet as I always slice my hands reaching into the receiver. Works fine. I tap the pistol grip. Done it with multiple 34s, no issues yet.

I hear you on that, its sharp like a knife. Was trying to remember as its been a while. I might of used wood dowel to push. idk
