I recently purchased a few blank guns from some members here and in my haste i didn't check with my local police department before i bought them. My fault completely but here is what i was told......

All zorki blank guns have been reclassified as 12(6) or 12(5) prohibited

Most if not all Ekol blank guns have been reclassified as either restricted or 12(6) prohib.........the three that i inquired about were most definitely reclassed as prohib. (those were the Ekol firat magnum, the Ekol Dicle and the Ekol Jackle duel)

I found this out from the Saint John Police Force here is Saint John New Brunswick. The constable that i spoke to said that these rules were being applied CANADA wide and not just in my city or the province of New Brunswick. Just thought that every one should know. if anyone with the proper licenses would like to purchase any of the ones that i just bought, please pm me and i will gives you details of what i have.

well i did a search and nothing came up at all and i was sold these blank guns under the premis that they weren't prohibited but they are. so not everyone knows about it. i now am either going to have to sell them to somebody with the proper license or turn them in to my local police force and be out a bunch of money. it is my own fault for not checking first and i am not going to say something to the gentlemen who sold them to me as they were in the dark as much as i was. i just don;t want this same thing to happen to some one else who is going to use them for the same purpose that i was. (fire arms training)

uhh i thought only 2 of them were changed to prohib status. i wont believe anyone until i see it writen so call cfc and ask them popos want evrything banned so

AFAIK.

Any Zoraki that has been prohibited, is NOT grandfathered.

It cannot be classified as 12(6) or 12(5) or 12 anything else.

It can't be sold, or given to anyone either.
Any such firearm MUST be surrendered to police.

It might be an idea to ask a Moderator to remove this entire thread.

Possession of a prohibited firearm that is not classified currently under the various 12(*) denominations, and withouth the correct RPAL classification.
Is against the Law.

Discussing illegal activities here on CGN is not wise.
It is against CGN Rules, and can bring about BANINATION.

Just a word to the wise Eh!:)

Two Zoraki Blank Firing Pistols Identified as Prohibited Firearms

The Zoraki Models 914 and 925 blank firing pistols have been identified, based on criteria set out in the Criminal Code, as prohibited firearms. Businesses in possession of either firearm must register the firearm, providing they are licensed to do so, or surrender the firearm to law enforcement agencies. Individuals have no option but to surrender the firearm.
Implications to Individual Firearms Owners
Individuals who are currently in possession of either blank firing pistol must surrender or dispose of these blank firing guns by contacting either the local police or the provincial Chief Firearms Officer immediately to make the necessary arrangements.

For the flare gun being re-classified to restricted.

NOTICE – Flare Gun Determined to be Restricted Firearm

The RCMP has recently become aware that a particular flare gun, available in Canada, is in fact a restricted firearm.
The Zoraki Model R1 blank firing revolver was inspected and, based on criteria set out in the Criminal Code, the inspection determined that this type of revolver is a restricted firearm because an identical frame is used in both the manufacturer’s flare gun and genuine firearm.
This is a public safety concern because these firearms are sold by businesses in Canada, and unlicensed individuals and businesses may be in possession of unregistered restricted firearms.
Individuals and businesses in possession of this firearm must either register the firearm, provided they are licensed to do so, or surrender the firearm to a law enforcement agency.
For further information on how to lawfully and safely surrender the firearm, please contact your local police or the Canadian Firearms Program at 1-800-731-4000.

Just trying to help people stay off the ####-list Eh!:)

If the "firearms" (??) that you purchased are 12.6 or if they're 12.5 (???!), you're SOL. There are no more non-government prohib firearms allowed to be registered in Canada, they must be surrendered to the police, I'm surprised they didn't seize them on the spot.

AFAIK.

So a WHOLE TWO MODELS were listed as Prohibited. I've seen quite a few options for Zoraki blank firing options that I saw available on Canada Ammo. So odds are that the ones the OP has may not even be the ones listed.

Two models is hardly cause for the rather loud looking first post. Ease up a little.

He only heard from the local station. And as has been seen all too often the police hardly know the firearms regs inside out. Odds are that the ones he has aren't even the two that are listed.

I'm sure he'll be along to thank you for at least finding the pertinent ruling with the model numbers though. That part is actually helpful.

They arn't 12.6 and 12.5 prohibs.. they are just prohibs there is no new grandfather prohibs allowed...
