To BOB a revolver hammer...

Gentlemen, I have a Ruger snub and I want to "BOB" the hammer. What is a proven way to do this? Files, grinder? Also will the reduced hammer weight affect the reliability of ignition? Any thoughts appreciated..

Dremel with cutoff wheel, then files and crocus cloth.

repete's got it. decreasing the weight isn't a problem, the lighter mass lets the hammer accelerate faster, decreasing lock time and acctually adding energy to the strike, E=MVsquared. I'd love to get a second hammer for my 625 and do this as well......
